WHERE WE ARE TODAY
The permanent commercial farm has not yet been secured. RLF is currently in active land-search and pre-acquisition development, building the systems and relationships needed to move responsibly when the right opportunity is found.
What is happening now
Current work includes evaluating farm properties and long-term land-access opportunities; developing grazing, forage, hay, fencing, water, winter-feed, livestock, apiary, and portable infrastructure plans; researching processing and regulatory pathways; building relationships with agricultural agencies and technical-assistance providers; and developing future direct-market and farm-to-table demand.
Current hands-on agricultural activity remains homestead-scale poultry husbandry with chickens and ducks. That experience is real, but it is not presented as if the planned commercial RLF operation is already running.
What happens when land is secured
The first priorities will be to understand the actual property before scaling livestock. That means confirming land-use permissions and zoning, documenting field and land history, evaluating water and access, testing soils and forage where appropriate, mapping usable acreage, planning fencing and animal movement, and establishing the recordkeeping needed for conservation and organic-readiness work.
Portable systems are preferred during the early learning period. Major permanent investments such as extensive fixed fencing, buried water, barns, lanes, or heavy-use infrastructure should follow a proven site layout or sufficiently durable tenure.
Why we are doing so much planning first
Livestock creates immediate obligations. Once animals arrive, fencing, water, feed, shelter, health care, processing schedules, and market plans cannot remain theoretical. Pre-launch work reduces the chance that an exciting land or livestock opportunity turns into an avoidable operational problem.
Current development stage
Status: Land search + pre-launch farm development
Commercial RLF livestock production and live-animal/breeding-stock sales are not yet established. Customer food availability, market schedules, pickup, food ordering, and commercial food-sales claims belong to CHF and will be represented there only when factual.
